Gay Chicago - Chicago known as the "Windy City" is the largest city in Illinois, 3rd largest city in the U.S. and has an established gay community. There are 2 popluar gay areas, Boystown (East Lakeview) and Andersonville. Most bars and clubs close at 2am but there are a few after hours clubs that close at 4am and 5am on Saturdays. Populars bars and nightclubs include Sidetrack, Roscoe's and Hydrate but there are alot more out there.
June is pride month in Chicago which features social, athletic, political and cultural events. A pride month calendar is available as well as a Pride Guide. The annual Pride parade is held in East Lakeview and falls at the end of the month. The first parade was held June 27, 1970 and hundreds of thousand of visitors attend the event now.
